Time's Up

I decided to take out the last four orpington eggs, and crack them open in the woods to see what the deal was. They're like five days behind, and so it's a goner one way or another---I figured I might be able to figure out what was wrong.

Egg #1 was the one I thought was clear (but left in anyways, just in case), and was, in fact, completely clear. Non-fertile. No development what-so-ever.

Egg #2 looked like it's developed to the max of about five days, a very, very small embryo---lots of yolk, and no air sac.

Eggs # 3 and 4 were both completely developed chicks, feathered, and all. (Of course, they looked just the orpington chicks I already have in the brooder.) They had air-sacs, yolk, and everything. They were just dead. No clue what the deal is. My ameraucana's are still popping up everywhere in that brooder---so it can't be a temp/humidity issue....

It dies a mystery.
