This is Rico; he's the little white-crested black polish bantam that hatched yesterday; he's all dried off now, and is waddling around the brooder.

He has some company now too; two Auction/Survivor eggs have hatched today, the first, a LF white ameraucana chick, who has just joined him in the brooder to finish drying.

The poor baby looks a little goofy right now, but will dry off nicely, and I'll take more pictures then. Out of the three chicks that hatched, this ameraucana's hatch was easiest, considering the broken air-sac.

The third chick is another polish bantam, who just now made it out of his/her shell---and appears to be another white-crested, though we'll see.

This chick seems to come out a bit early; he pecked a nice big hole in the top of his egg, and rolled out with quite a bit of blood, so I'm nervous that he might not make it---but we're just have to see! He looks weak, but them little buggers are strong. They survived Zeb and Duke, after all.

I also threw out a BBS LF orpington egg---which, was about to explode; it was leaking some nasty yolk, so I tossed it. Lol. So THAT's what was smelling so bad! Apparently I let that rotten egg get a bit too far, since I can't candle the Orp eggs well. :)

Crisis diverted.
