It was a real nice day today, and though the wind was cold, the sun was real warm, and we had lots of critters napping in the sunshine.
Or just sunning and preening themselves, like this fat old ladies.
Even the little mallard hen and her two suitors took a bit of a nap, though they woke up when I approached to take a couple pictures.
A good 3/4 of our gamebirds were inside the Big Coop, though, when I went to go check and see if we had any eggs (there were none.) I got some of them to go outside, I wouldn't figure out why they were staying in.
Some chickens just grazed, though.
I spent a good hour following this gamehen and her brethren through the woods, trying to see if there were any eggs out there (there were none.) It's amazing how fast those birds can get you off their tail. I guess it doesn't help that I'm so easily distracted. I'm walking real quiet, all focused. and then I see a little bug, and all ADD breaks out---I completely forget what I was doing, and then, thirty minutes later when I remember, I have to start over.
That's just how mentally sharp I am.
