All day yesterday and last night -and now today -the weather has been fighting.
We've had rain and rain. Plus loads of high power wind. Midnight's rabbit cage blew down, along with the wooden stands that hold it up. (Many thanks to my Daddy for helping me put it back up again)
The top blew of of Frizz's cage, and when I went out there he was very wet, and no doubt cold....
It has finally slowed down. But the creek has risen over all of our forest paths (I find that annoying, because so much trash gets washed in!) And over our fire pit.... we have many a large water puddle spread 'cross our land.
I just got back from taking care of the chickens and goats, plus the ducks. The ridge that partway surrounds us is covered and hidden in fog/mist. It's quite pretty actually.
In other news; Tuesday is my CAP Awards Banquet. We will all be wearing our dress uniforms and will be bringing food to this church for a pot-luck supper. It will be fun! And they may even be assigning me, (or maybe my friend Andrew) to the position of Element Leader!
I'm also dog-sitting Dolly. And I will be for some time. So far she is doing great! And has had a good time getting muddy/sobbing wet.
I've also been trying to stay updated on my ratlets that I will soon be getting; though the wait for them to age is driving me mad.
....
Hmmmmmmm....
I feel like there is something else that I meant to say...
Ah well, it will come to me later!
Okay, so here is a link to a video on YouTube of the TWO little baby male dumbo rats I'm getting!
Go see! Go now!
This link!
They are very cute, huh? The brown one is a Agouti (wild rat color) Veriberk.
A Berkshire rat is a solid colored rat with a white belly and normally white paws and a white tail tip. The belly marking is supposed to be wide and evenly edged, but they are normally not.
Veriberk (like mine, yeah!) are like the Berkshire, only they have irregular white belly markings that may come up the sides of the rat.
The mostly white rat with kinda a blue/gray head is called a Russian Blue Bareback. The blue coloring on his head is the -you know -Russian Blue. Then his markings are Bareback: a hood on a white rat that covers the head and shoulders only.
I hope to get them soon. The Breeder says they won't be able to go until around 6-7 weeks because these pups are so much smaller then the others in other litters.

Yesterday was surprisingly warm. We went outside to play.
Above you'll see me, with a dog for a leg.
Zelda, my American Bulldog-that-looks-like-a-Pit Bull has a bad habit about trying to trip me when I run. I think that habit was formed by the fact that many American Bulldogs were -and still sometimes are -bred to hunt boar-pig.
I can barely remember when I was -how old was I? - younger; my uncle had a pen in his yard that was full of -big-scary-big-stinky-big-loud pigs.
What dogs with do - they will hit the boar and bite into their necks.
When I say hit, I mean ram into the creature
hard.
That's why many Bulldogs have such wide chests and strong snouts.
I've heard my uncle tell stories about Bulldogs breaking their muzzles doing that though... not a good thing.
I'll run outside with our dogs, and once I was dog-sitting Dolly; and -well, Duke is fast if he really gets going, and our pasture is like a run-way to him -and often when he gets going, slowing down and/or stopping is a bit of a problem.
So anyway: Duke comes running -gathering speed -right towards tiny little Dolly, and I figure that Dolly could get seriously hurt if he rammed into her; I decided to stop him.
(Being the total genius that I am)
I jump in front of him, he turns a bit but still crashes into me.
I was flat out and bruised.
But Dolly was okay.
Since then I have learned the doggie-combat tactics that you need if you are going to wrestle/stop/run with Zelda and/or Duke.
Arwen has her own style, so that's a bit different. Arwen will jump at you, flinging her overly long legs around, and will scratch you up.
I'm guessing I've thoroughly bored you by now. So I will show you some other things that went on yesterday.

Violence. (Mwaaahaaahaaawaaaaaa!!!!)
Notice that Willow is completely off the ground.
(Strange
vooom, clash, vooooooooom, noises sound that are the lightsabers)

Quinn slayed Indy. Oh dear.
Congrats to mybarefootfarm who got the answer to the last Guessing game correct! And thanks for all that played! :) :) :)
Now, I'm going to start another.
Here goes...
Hint 1: From Kingdom Animalia.
Hint 2: Were originally bred for going down tunnels and chasing out/killing moles, etc.
Hint 3: Only about 2-4 pounds in weight.
Hint 4: Have fur.
Hint 5: Class Mammalia.
Hint 6: Males are called hobs.
Right you know the rule.
No looking it up! (I didn't to get the hints!)
Me and my mom have talked to the rat-breeder, and she has reserved the baby rat I want for me! Yeah! I'm very pleased; though I won't be able to get him until around the end of this month. He is still so little!
I WILL post pictures as soon as I get him, though. :)
On another note: I've blogged a few times today... I need to add more pictures though....
Because I'm bored, and Zeb is asleep. I'm going to make a game.
O.K.
So, I'm going to put down some hints, and you people (if you want to that is) will comment with your guess on what I'm thinking of.
Rules:
1: Try not to look it up on the internet.
Okay, so I only have one rule. But -anyways....
Here goes:
Hint 1: Is in the Kingdom Animalia.
Hint 2: Swims.
Hint 3: Lays eggs.
Hint 4: Has a bill.
Hint 5: Class Mammalia. (This hint should make this easy)
Hint 6: Males are venomous. (Hehe)
O.K.
So, please post your answer through commenting if you wish to play.
My dog -Zelda -is currently standing at the back door barking her head off.
And for those of you who may not know -my dog is very, very loud.
She's even pointing and howling. I have no clue what she is barking at. I won't let her outside, and I'm not going outside to find out. But I've looked out the window, and it appears that she is barking at our guinea fowl.
Duke is not very interested: but every time Zelda barks -Dolly with growl. And then Arwen will growl.
Now: Arwen has a very intimidating growl.
The only thing I can guess is that Zelda can hear the people hunting quail in the property next to ours -but I don't know. My dog may just like to bark *shrugs*
UPDATE: (12:25 pm)
I have confirmed that Zelda was barking at the hunters next pasture. She is still barking, but her behavior whenever a gun shot sounds has me thinking that she is simply wary of the guns. Plus I called my mom and she thinks Zelda was barking at the hunters also.
Good guard doggy.

Here's Dolly and Zelda. They still love to play together, even after Zelda has grown so large. When I first got Zelda, she was smaller then Dolly!
Dolly just loves to stand up on her back paws and nip -in a playful manner -at Zelda's ears! Duke also loves to play with Dolly -though he tends to almost crush her, he is so big! His chest is very wide, you really don't want to stand in front of Duke if he's running towards you full-force -I've done it, and it took a little while for me to get up off the ground!
You may know that I'm hoping to buy a pet rat -a dumbo rat to be exact.
Dumbos differ from other rats. Dumbos have large, round, low-set ears; while -most of the time -a normal rat, such as a fancy rat or a garden rat, will have ears that are higher placed on the head.
There is a very good breeder up in Huntsville, (that's where Quinn got her rat) and she has a very nice rat-breeding setup.
All her rats are raised with a lot of handling, and they are well-tempered and well bred, no inbreeding at all!
Anyway, this rat-breeder has a new litter that was just born on New Year's Eve, and I'm hoping I can get one of the babies. They are usually ready to go by 4 weeks old.

I just bought a rat cage today. It is pretty big for the price -$44.99 -and has four levels.
As you can see I have already put bedding in it -not that I'm going to be getting a rat soon, or anything. I just kinda wanted to see what it would look like.

After a little bit of reorganizing; I put the rat cage next to Norbert's -who completely ignored me and kept on sleeping... Over to the far left you can see some buckets and containers -that's my animal stuff. Like goat collars, Norbert's cricket powder -etc.

While we are talking about animals -this is Oreo. My sister Indiana got this sweet little standard-ear female for Christmas. Oreo has a cute little mask, and she loves to be held!

This is Quinn's dumbo rat Princess Peach. You see how different her ears are compared to Oreo's?
Peach is very soft and spends most of her time up Quinn's sleeves, (it's a rat thing!)

My apologies, folks.
Leave it to me to not blog in -forever.
I'm back though, (yeah! Right?)
Here's a picture of Sandy. She is feasting upon a pecan; she how fast her head is moving? Best keep your fingers out of the way, eh?
I love how she flattens her tail against her head, they do that to break up their form in the wild, see? So they are harder to see.
She has gained a
little weight over the winter. And is very soft.
She is also extremely hyper. Loves to run all over the place.
So, how did everybody's Christmas and New Year go, eh?
Mine has been great, and we are now (of course) starting school back, (yeah -)
Anyway... I've been dog-sitting my grandparent's dog -Dolly. She has been enjoying herself, playing with the pups and sleeping in my bed. She's a great dog! :)
