We cleaned out the chicken/goat coops today.
We went inside and feasted upon soem very yummy cookies -thanks Momma! -then I went outside shortly after and took some pictures!
The chickens we have been letting out during the day -and here is my baby rooster Snowy and two of his ladies.
I'm very proud of this boy -he's doing very well in the pecking order. And he's such a pretty boy. With his handsome tail feathers and bright red comb.
Back to the critters -
Anybody remember Diamond? The little white chick that was -is -my favorite of our last clutch of chicks?
She's turned into a beautiful young lass -just look at her nice buff feathers!
Here's two of her sisters:
Our buff polish.
Her feather-head is looking pretty good!
She's quite proud of it, you should she her strut....
One of our Cuckuo Maran chicks.
These birds peck -at -every -thing!
The ground, the air, poop, my feet, eachother, my toes, the fence, my hands...you get the point.
I am sorry.
But this rooster is to darn cute.
He's our big-boy rooster. His name is M&Ms. Which is not a very tough sounding name.
He gets teased about it. He told me.
I told him to suck it up.
Now he ignores me.
True story.
My baby boy Tonks. He's doing really good. And is high in the pecking order now-a-days. Which surprises me because he is blind in one eye, and tiny.
Very tiny.
He's a sweet-heart though.
Our big ducks!
Our baby ducks!
Walking in their little row...how cute!
That's Gavin, lagging behind. I think Gavin is a hen. Though I have my doubts about the other four. They all look pretty big to be females....
Hermione!
I found her hiding in her spool chewing cud.
There is my proof.
Hahah. :)
For some reason -with goats -food is always better the second time 'round.
(Bad picture, sorry!)
My bantam Jellybean. Her eggs should be hatching soon!
I've been watching them carefully, candling them, and everything.
They look pretty good, though some seem to be a little behind. Which could be a problem if she has to take care of the older ones....
She's ready for them to hatch -though, as am I.
She's got that concentrated look, now.
The baby ducks.
All resting together...
Awww.
^-^
I end this post with a picture of Duke.
Looking like a total genius.
Poor dog.
You just gotta love him!
