I really don't understand this weather we've been having.
Two days ago -it felt like the middle of Spring.
Today -you could swear it was the center of December.
Yup -it's snowing here.
Big, freezing flakes of snow.

Indy and Willow ran outside fast as they could.
To build their fort, and play in the snow.
At first it didn't look like it was going to stick,
but know it's starting to cover the cold ground like a veil of thick frost.
The ground is cold when your barefoot -in case y'all didn't know.
I DO know, because I was barefoot as I took these pictures.

Zeb's staying on the safe and warm side.
He isn't feeling very good today -Mom says he has a low grade fever -but she also says it's probably because he's teething.

Dolly enjoys biting Zelda's ears.

I really don't know why.
But Zelda takes it like a good doggie -then gets her reveng by knocking Dolly down.

"Wha'?"

Sandy is livin' the good life. She has quite the belly now -and is still quite hyper.
She loves pecans.
Her head can move very quickly when she's eating.
Their good -them pecans.

Good Weather Today -Folks!

It's been pretty nice outside today, the wind here is a little cool, but that's not much of a problem.
we've played outside often today. Indy and Willow made a nice little fort out in the backyard. Me and Quinn have run around through the woods and jumped on the trampoline (which I'm about to go do, some more)

Zeb and Rose have also played outside a good deal today. Zeb mostly stayed on the porch, or went in wagon rides -but Rose played with Indy and Willow a lot.

On a side note: Rose has been running around yelling: 'Rock on, freaky bro!'

For those of you who don't know -that is from a favorite Spongebob episode of ours.

But -we haven't spent all of our time outside today -I finished my Literature thingy that I was writing, and Quinn DID ask to play the Wii, but was turned down by Mom.

Quinn got Sandy the Squirrel out to play with...Sandy is behaving very well! she is just sitting there -letting Quinn hold her. So sweet!
(Though Dolly is eyeballing her evilly >-> )

Some dude came over today to fix the dishwasher, which has been acting the role of 'major pain in the tail'.
Mom says it is now fixed! Which is good -hopefully it will STAY like that for a while. ^-^
Dolly Update!
1/28/2010 | Author:

Here she is! The tiny little doggie that I'm baby-sitting. She's been doing great! She growls most the night -at the train, at Zelda when she snores -when my dad comes home from work -Zelda when she snores... etc... It's annoying -and hilarious, because she thinks she's so tough!

She has a good time playing with Zelda, though she seems to try and avoid Duke when they are all outside. Duke is a bit of a pain when it comes to Dolly -he takes great pride is being able to squish her!

Dolly was sniffing around our kitchen while we were eating -she must have tasted something bad or very good -because she started tossing her head and licking her nose. She's fine now -but it was kinda funny to watch!

(I love this picture.)

Hehe.

I gave both her and Zelda showers this morning before school. And just a little while ago I went outside and took a walk through the woods to see everything that got washed up on our land when we had all that rain.
Her and Zelda ran, and ran.  through mud and water and decaying leaves. it was something else.
They are both very filthy now.
And they are very proud. ^-^

(P.S, notice, Grandma and Grandpa, her ears are up in the pictures so she looks good!)

O.K. Today's game is about to start! Yeah! And all that! you know the rule: try not to research it, because that is cheating. If you are unable to post a comment then you can E-mail me at bluestorm@catt.com.
O.K.  Here are the hints!

Hint 1: Are sometimes (often) called the Cavy
Hint 2: Was first domesticated as early as 5000 BC for food by tribes in the Andean region of South America.
Hint 3: They are built somewhat like pigs with large-ish heads compared to their bodies, they have stout necks and rounded rumps.
Hint 4: They weigh in between 700-1200 grams, (1.5-2.5 pounds)
Hint 5: They live in 'herds' made up of 2-6 members. These creatures mostly like to be in 2s or 3s.
Hint 6: They feed on many types of vegetation, and are Crepuscular.
Hint 7: Males are called boars, females are called sows, their young are called pups.

Good luck to all!

So, today -after walking around our front yard and picking up trash -I decided to brush my dog's teeth with a old toothbrush and water -since I don't have a pet toothpaste.

I could see some tartar buildup towards the back of Zelda's mouth, so I figured I should try to scrub some off (I did too!)  She did very good. I just laid her on her back, and she relaxed. Though she kept trying to bite the brush.

Dolly was hanging around, watching the goings-on. So I decided to look at her teeth -which were even cleaner then Zelda's, (no surprise there, lol.) Here she is showing of her shiny fangs.

She did awesome! And I got some of the buildup off her teeth also.

Raven kept getting in the way -and her breath -stinks bad. (So of course I had to try and brush her teeth!)
In the picture you can see all the tartar.
I tried to clean them a bit, but she was growling and snapping and I didn't want to try and restrain her else she would think badly of having her teeth brushed. So I figured I would try again (or have my Dad do it) when we actually have toothpaste.

So yeah -just... thought I might do a post about that. Many thanks to Quinn who took the pictures.

We haven't done much today -like I mentioned earlier, I went around and picked up trash from in the front yard... then I burnt it in the burning barrel with a torch! Mwaaahaaawahwaaa! That was fun -now I smell like burnt plastic and smoke.... I'm going to take I shower tonight to get rid of that -and Dolly rolled in something and is looking mighty muddy. We've done school today already -I'm reading a lot of books for my History and Literature. I just started three more books today and I'm about to put them on my 'Books I am Reading' thing over there to the side of my blog....
I really hate Math -in case you didn't know that.... I'm going to do extra of Math tomorrow because I didn't do any Math today -I did extra Literature today.... And extra Biology.
I really like Biology -though I don't find bacterium all that interesting -well -let me rephrase that: they are interesting -it's just very hard to remember what they are called....
I'm O.K with Literature too -I normally get ahead in that -well -I think I do anyway... Right now in Literature I'm reading books (of course) and I'm working on this short, scary story thing I'm supposed to write as a writing exercise. Now, I like writing -and typing. So that's fun. but I don't know how good it is -or if it's scary. But oh-well. I'm not done with it  -then I've got to show it to Mom when I DO finish it. I think it's O.K. I've got to go over it and make it longer, then I'll fill it out and add some to it -like I do when I write my Dragon Story stuff.

So-yeah. That's what's going on here. Mom cleaned out both the car and garage, and they look very nice now!

Here's me hoping y'all a good day:
G'day!

CAP Awards Banquet.
1/27/2010 | Author:

Yesterday evening was my CAP yearly Awards Banquet. (It was a Pot Luck supper too! Yeah!)
Quite a few of our Squadron's cadets were there. And also our Wing Commander, (Whom you see in the picture, he's the one that's NOT saluting.)
The idea of the Banquet is too hand out the big awards -like Cadet of the Year, and all the important senior member awards.
They were also supposed to elect the new Cadet Staff members, like the Element leaders and such. But they didn't, they said they would do that soon. (I hope so)

We listened to a lot of repeated talking -but that was alright. We got to visit, and chat with everybody -it was overall pretty good. (But I wish they would have chosen the new Element Leaders! Gaar!)

Rosie! She got a little wild towards the end of the Banquet -I bet it was all those cookies!
Zeb was a stinker, he ran all over the place!

Here's Quinn giving Michael Braud bunny ears.

Me and Andrew Braud -the soda was great! You can see how alert I was, Mom didn't give me time to smile!
You can see Indy's blue hair! And there's James Braud looking at something on the ground -huh...

It was a pretty good night -but busy!
And we were all very tired by the end of it! (Least I was!)

Dog Breed Quiz,
1/25/2010 | Author:
Because I learned so much while studying dog behavior before getting Zelda. I thought this would be good to test y'alls' knowledge of common dog breeds. This dog is fairly well-known.

Hint 2: Temperament is gentle and devoted; can be stubborn acting under the care of a weak owner/leader.

Hint 4: Live for around 10-12 years.
Hint 5: Have very a very good sense of smell.
Hint 6: Large litters are very common, with 6-16 pups, 8 being an average.
Hint 7: During shows, color is of not much concern. But they are usually a deep tan to light cream, rusty red, and/or black.
Hint 8: Fur type is hard and short, when clean it is often shiny.
