Goat Patrol

I was standing at the backdoor this morning, prepping myself to go take care of the critters, when I noticed Hermione out of the lot, running around. She looked nervous, and I was just standing there trying to figure out how she got out (everything looked normal) when I saw Leia running towards Hermione. Duke was right on her tail, licking her legs, the doof.

I called Duke in, then went out to try and get the goats back inside the lot.

Turns out it wasn't that hard; Duke scared them both so bad they just ran back into the lot. And I don't mean power-walking, or casual jogging, they booked-it. They had had enough. Serves them right for getting out----though it was technically my fault, as I soon discovered. In the chaos of the hulseys being our last night, and finding my poor silkie Donut dead, I'd left the gate unlocked.
Well, I'd locked it, the bolt was slid across, but it hadn't actually reached the lock area. So, yup. My fault, I'm glad Duke just played with them.

Also, they didn't eat Mom's fruit trees! Which is good---but I did notice a few blackberry leaves missing off the bushes, so I guess they got some fast-food while dodging Duke's tongue.
He tastes everything.
